An updated device-mapper-multipath package that adds multiple features and
fixes various bugs is now available.
Description
The device-mapper-multipath package provides tools to manage multipath
devices by instructing the device-mapper multipath kernel module what to do.
Features added in this updated package include:
- User friendly multipath device names
- Ability to flush queued IO after a delay, if all paths are down
- Vendor and Product fields of multipath.conf can be regular expressions
- Automatically create multipaths on devices loaded after bootup
- Automatically create partition devices for multipath devices with dos
partitons
- Option to use path priorities as weights in the round-robin scheduler
- New path priority callout for NETAPP devices
Bugs fixed include:
- Inability for some storage arrays to failback automatically
- Incorrect timing for device failback
- Incorrect command usage output
All users requiring device-mapper-multipath should upgrade to this updated
package, which adds these enhancements and fixes the indicated bugs.
Solution
Before applying this update, make sure all previously released errata
relevant to your system have been applied.
This update is available via Red Hat Network. To use Red Hat Network,
launch the Red Hat Update Agent with the following command:
up2date
This will start an interactive process that will result in the appropriate
RPMs being upgraded on your system
