Details

An updated yaboot package that includes support for network booting of
yaboot on pSeries is now available.

The yaboot package is a bootloader for Open Firmware-based PowerPC
machines. It can be used to boot IBM pSeries machines.

This version of yaboot supports network booting on IBM pSeries in
conjunction with the Open Firmware obp-tftp support package. This update
also provides a fix for an issue with initrd memory allocation experienced
on some hardware.

All PowerPC yaboot users are advised to upgrade to this updated package,
which adds this functionality.


Solution

Before applying this update, make sure all previously released errata
relevant to your system have been applied.

This update is available via Red Hat Network. To use Red Hat Network,
launch the Red Hat Update Agent with the following command:

up2date

This will start an interactive process that will result in the appropriate
RPMs being upgraded on your system.
