Red Hat Insights patch analysis
Identify and remediate systems affected by this advisory.
Topic
A new convmv package that converts file name encodings is now available.
Description
The convmv package contains a tool for converting the character-set
encodings of file names. It is particularly useful for converting file
names encoded in legacy charset encodings such as ISO-8859 to UTF-8, or EUC
to UTF-8.
This package has been added as a new package to Red Hat Enterprise Linux 4.
Users who require the need to convert the encoding of file names should
install this newly released package.
Solution
Before applying this update, make sure all previously released errata
relevant to your system have been applied.
This update is available via Red Hat Network. To use Red Hat Network,
launch the Red Hat Update Agent with the following command:
up2date
This will start an interactive process that will result in the appropriate
RPMs being upgraded on your system.
