Details

A new package, keyutils, which contains utilities for managing the kernel
key retention facility, is now available for Red Hat Enterprise Linux 4
Update 2.

Keyutils is set of utilities for managing the key retention facility in
the kernel, which can be used by filesystems, block devices and more
to gain and retain the authorization and encryption keys required to
perform secure operations.

The keyutils package allows for the future enhancement of network
filesystems and other services.

All users requiring keyutils should install this newly released package,
which adds this enhancement.


Solution

Before applying this update, make sure all previously released errata
relevant to your system have been applied.

This update is available via Red Hat Network. To use Red Hat Network,
launch the Red Hat Update Agent with the following command:

up2date

This will start an interactive process that will result in the appropriate
RPMs being upgraded on your system.
