Details

New Red Hat Database documentation is available. This documentation
includes corrections, updated examples, improved graphics, and improved
indexes.

The Red Hat Database 7.1.3 documentation set features completely updated
versions of the existing manuals as well as a new manual, the "Red Hat
Database Programmer's Guide".

The "Red Hat Database Programmer's Guide" has two parts: Part I describes
the client-side programming interfaces and support libraries for various
languages. Part II describes the server-side program interfaces, the
architectural concepts, and the procedural languages in the Red Hat
Database distribution.

Although the "Red Hat Database Programmer's Guide" is based on the
PostgreSQL Community's "Programmer's Guide", the Red Hat Database version
features new sections (such as a chapter on using a database with PHP) and
completely reworked sections (such as the chapters on ODBC, JDBC, Python,
and libpgeasy).

Throughout the Red Hat Database manual set you will find corrections,
updated examples, improved graphics, and improved indexes. The information
in all manuals has been reorganized to be more task-oriented and to more
closely match your needs.

Solution

Before applying this update, make sure all previously released errata
relevant to your system have been applied.

To update all RPMs for your particular architecture, run:

rpm -Fvh [filenames]

where [filenames] is a list of the RPMs you wish to upgrade. Only those
RPMs which are currently installed will be updated. Those RPMs which are
not installed but included in the list will not be updated. Note that you
can also use wildcards (*.rpm) if your current directory *only* contains
the
desired RPMs.

Please note that this update is also available via Red Hat Network. Many
people find this an easier way to apply updates. To use Red Hat Network,
launch the Red Hat Update Agent with the following command:

up2date

This will start an interactive process that will result in the appropriate
RPMs being upgraded on your system.
