Red Hat Database 7.1.3 packages available

New Red Hat Database packages are available. These packages upgrade
Red Hat Database, which is based on PostgreSQL 7.1.2, to PostgreSQL 7.1.3,
the latest stable release of PostgreSQL. It is recommended that Red Hat
Database users upgrade to these new packages.

This release upgrades Red Hat Database with numerous bug fixes and
enhancements. This release is based on PostgreSQL 7.1.3 and also
incorporates back-patched fixes from PostgreSQL 7.2 that are not
present in the community 7.1.3 release.

Highlights of this release include Python interface bug fixes, updated JDBC
and ODBC drivers, and pg_dump (backup utility) enhancements and
compatibility fixes.

Numerous other bugs and issues have also been corrected. These are detailed
in the release notes for this update, which are found in the rh-postgresql
package included in this update.

Please pay special attention to the installation instructions in the
"Solution" section below as they differ from standard upgrade instructions.

Before applying this update, make sure all previously released errata
relevant to your system have been applied.

Also, before applying this errata you should stop the Red Hat Database
service. To stop the service, run:

/etc/init.d/rhdb stop

Red Hat, Inc. does not recommend upgrading a Red Hat Database installation
while the Red Hat Database service is running. Such a procedure is
unsupported.

Please note that this update is only available via Red Hat Network. To use
Red Hat Network, launch the Red Hat Update Agent with the following
command:

up2date

This will start an interactive process that will result in the appropriate
RPMs being upgraded on your system.
