RHBA-2018:2986 - Bug Fix Advisory
Synopsis
heketi bug fix and enhancement update
Type/Severity
Bug Fix Advisory
Red Hat Insights patch analysis
Identify and remediate systems affected by this advisory.
Topic
Updated heketi packages that fix various bugs are now available for Red Hat OpenShift Container Storage 3.11.
Description
Heketi provides the Red Hat Gluster Storage volume lifecycle management. It
creates the Red Hat Gluster Storage volumes dynamically and supports
multiple Red Hat Gluster Storage clusters.
This advisory fixes the following bugs:
- When many volumes create requests were made simultaneously, heketi spawned a very large number of goroutines, which greatly increased memory consumption by heketi. Heketi is now restricted to a certain number of concurrent operations in order to prevent this issue. (BZ#1600042)
- Previously, heketi ignored pvremove and vgremove errors when a device was removed while the device remove commands were used. Attempting to add the same disk again failed because it had not been properly removed in the first place. Heketi no longer ignores pvremove and vgremove errors, ensuring that devices are removed correctly, and can be re-added to Heketi after removal. Alternatively, you can also use the "--force-forget" flag with the device remove command to ignore any errors to ensure the same device can be added back to Heketi. (BZ#1629889)
Users of Heketi are advised to upgrade to these updated packages, which
fixes these bugs and adds enhancements.

Fixes
- BZ - 1452563 - deployment stuck if gluster node went offline
- BZ - 1577800 - [Tracker-RHGS-BZ#1612098] [stability] After a poweroff/poweron of the 2 "Arbiter:disabled" nodes, new volume creation fails with "Create Volume Build Failed: read-only file system"
- BZ - 1629889 - Device removal leaves garbage on the device returning "ok", breaking further attempts to "add" device back
- BZ - 1632719 - [heketi workaround] With only 1 node down, multipath -ll shows multiple paths in "failed" state
- BZ - 1638316 - heketi is giving error on deletion of block device "Error: Volume 2be96a5cba8e68184eb0e488934ab75c free size may not be set greater than 100"
