Topic
Updated irqbalance packages that fix one bug are now available for Red Hat Enterprise Linux 6.7 Extended Update Support.
Description
The irqbalance packages provide a daemon that evenly distributes the interrupt request (IRQ) load across multiple CPUs for enhanced performance.
This update fixes the following bug:
- Previously, if a device disappeared and then reappeared, the "irq_count" interrupt request (IRQ) counter in irqbalance overflowed, which resulted in a failure to balance IRQs. This update adds a check which triggers a rescan of the IRQ database if the counter decreases. As a result, IRQs remain correctly balanced for disappearing and reappearing devices. (BZ#1541293)
Users of irqbalance are advised to upgrade to this updated package, which fixes this bug.
