Topic
Updated OpenStack Dashboard packages that resolve various issues are now
available for Red Hat Enterprise Linux OpenStack Platform 5.0 (Icehouse)
for RHEL 6.
Description
Red Hat Enterprise Linux OpenStack Platform provides the facilities
for building a private or public infrastructure-as-a-service (IaaS)
cloud running on commonly available physical hardware. This advisory
includes packages for:
- OpenStack Dashboard
OpenStack Dashboard (horizon) provides administrators and users
with a graphical interface to access, provision, and automate cloud-
based resources. The dashboard allows cloud administrators to get
an overall view of the size and state of the cloud, and it provides
end-users with a self-service portal to provision their own resources
within the limits set by administrators.
This update addresses the following issue:
- The OpenStack dashboard expected OpenStack Networking to be set up
with Layer 3 (L3) support and to allow floating IP addresses. As a result,
if an environment has OpenStack Networking configured without L3 support,
the "Launch instance" action failed due to a missed quota check on
floating IPs. With this update, the dashboard now gracefully handles the
failure to retrieve the list of floating IPs, and instances can now be
launched in environments where L3 is disabled in OpenStack Networking.
