Topic
An updated ovirt-node package that fixes various bugs and contains a number of
enhancements is now available.
Description
The ovirt-node package provides the utilities and recipes used to create and
configure the Red Hat Enterprise Virtualization Hypervisor ISO image.
Note: Red Hat Enterprise Virtualization Hypervisor is only available for the
Intel 64 and AMD64 architectures with virtualization extensions.
Changes to the ovirt-node component:
- Previously, a missing SELinux policy prevented virtual machine core dumps on
Red Hat Enterprise Virtualization Hypervisors. Specifically, qemu was not able
to write into 'virt_cache_t' directories. This issue is now resolved.
(BZ#1120065)
- Previously, changes to the 'virt-who' config file were not saved after the Red
Hat Enterprise Virtualization Hypervisor was rebooted. Subsequently, virt-who
was unable to send host/guest association to the SAM server. Now, a fix allows
changes to virt-who to persist after reboot. (BZ#1120059)
- Previously, an attempt to install ovirt-node-iso on a disk of less than the
minimum required size (1295M) would proceed, but then fail. Now, if there is not
enough space on the selected storage volumes to install, a notice appears on the
'Storage Volume' page, and the option to continue installation is disabled.
(BZ#1120060)
- Previously, when creating a new bond in the Red Hat Enterprise Virtualization
Hypervisor user interface, leaving the 'bond name' field empty caused the user
interface to crash. Now, the bond transaction is disabled if 'bond.name' and
'bond.slaves.selected' are not set, and an error dialogue appears in the UI.
(BZ#1120061)
- Previously, there was no intuitive way to exit the Ping sub-menu (TUI ->
Network -> Ping). Now, a close button has been added to allow users to navigate
back to the Network page. (BZ#1120062)
- Previously, the Red Hat Enterprise Virtualization Hypervisor user interface
did not display complete bond device names. Now, the 'Device' column has been
expanded to accommodate the entire length of bond names.
Note: On the 80x24 minimal setup, this means the 'Vendor' column no longer
appears, but 'MAC Address' field remains. (BZ#1120063)
Users of the Red Hat Enterprise Virtualization Hypervisor are advised to upgrade
to this updated package, which corrects these issues and adds these
enhancements.
