Red Hat Insights patch analysis
Identify and remediate systems affected by this advisory.
Topic
Updated vdsm packages that fix a bug are now available.
Description
VDSM is a management module that serves as a Red Hat Enterprise Virtualization
Manager agent on Red Hat Enterprise Virtualization Hypervisor or Red Hat
Enterprise Linux hosts.
This update fixes the following bugs:
- The latest version of VDSM should have a dependency on lvm2 version 2.02.100-5
and above, however this was not specified in the VDSM spec file. Consequently,
trying to create a new block storage domain failed due to a new vgcreate
parameter (--ignoreskippedcluster) which is unsupported by an older version of
lvm2. This dependency is now defined in the VDSM spec file, so the
- -ignoreskippedcluster parameter can be used as expected. (BZ#1047890)
All users managing Red Hat Enterprise Linux Virtualization hosts using Red Hat
Enterprise Virtualization Manager are advised to install these updated packages,
which fix these issues.
These updated packages will be provided to users of Red Hat Enterprise
Virtualization Hypervisor in the next rhev-hypervisor6 errata package.
