Identify and remediate systems affected by this advisory.
Topic
Updated openstack-packstack packages that fix various bugs are now available for
Red Hat OpenStack 3.0.
Description
Red Hat OpenStack provides the facilities for building a private or public
infrastructure-as-a-service (IaaS) cloud running on commonly available physical
hardware. Services provided by these packages include:
- OpenStack Compute service ("Nova").
- OpenStack Image service ("Glance").
- OpenStack Identity ("Keystone").
- OpenStack Networking service.
- OpenStack Object Storage service ("Swift").
- OpenStack Volume service ("Cinder").
- OpenStack Dashboard ("Horizon").
- OpenStack Metering service ("Ceilometer") - Technology Preview.
- OpenStack Orchestration service ("Heat") - Technology Preview.
Red Hat OpenStack also includes these supporting technologies:
- PackStack, a utility for rapidly deploying proof of concept OpenStack clouds.
- Open vSwitch, an implementation of the OpenFlow protocol for remote per-flow
control of network traffic.
- A modified Red Hat Enterprise Linux kernel with network namespaces enabled, to
provide support for advanced network configurations.
For information on the scope and support implications of the Technology Preview
designation applied to some included components refer to:
https://access.redhat.com/support/offerings/techpreview/
To learn about each of the components provided and the way they interact to form
a working cloud computing environment refer to the Release Notes document:

This update fixes these bugs:
- PackStack now allows user selection of the token format to be used by the
Identity service (Keystone). The new configuration key is
CONFIG_KEYSTONE_TOKEN_FORMAT controls which token format is used. Valid values
are UUID of PKI. The recommended value for new deployments is PKI. (BZ#978853)
- The CONFIG_QUANTUM_L3_EXT_BRIDGE configuration key now accepts a new value,
"provider". Specifying this value instead of a bridge name will result in the L3
agent being configured to use external provider networks. Previously PackStack
deployments did not support the use of external provider networks. (BZ#976380)
- LVM autoextend is disabled by default on Red Hat Enterprise Linux 6.4. As a
result I/O errors were encountered attempting to clean up the snapshot that
created when cloning a volume. To workaround this issue PackStack has been
updated and now enables LVM autoextend automatically. (BZ#975894)
All Red Hat OpenStack users are advised to upgrade to these updated packages
which fix these bugs.
