Description
The Red Hat Enterprise Virtualization Manager is a centralized management
platform that allows system administrators to view and manage virtual
machines. The Red Hat Enterprise Virtualization Manager provides a
comprehensive range of features including search capabilities, resource
management, live migrations, and virtual infrastructure provisioning.
The Manager is a JBoss Application Server application that provides several
interfaces through which the virtual environment can be accessed and
interacted with, including an Administration Portal, a User Portal, and a
Representational State Transfer (REST) Application Programming Interface
(API).
This update fixes the following bugs:
- Previously, in upgraded environments, virtual machine boot order did not
account for multiple disks. This meant that if a virtual machine with more than
one disk was unexpectedly rebooted, the boot order was affected and the correct
disk would not be booted. Now, the 'boot' column of the images table is used to
order the boot disk to ensure the correct boot order. (BZ#970602)
- Previously, when Red Hat Enterprise Virtualization Manager has been upgraded
from 3.0 to 3.1, the logic would try to decrypt keystore passwords that were not
encrypted. This resulted in the flooding of the engine.log with 'Failed to
decrypt' errors. Now, the keystore passwords are treated as plain strings to
avoid flooding engine.log with unnecessary errors. (BZ#970075)
- Previously, adding large numbers of virtual machines from a template would
fail with an error because large deployments exceeded the transaction timeout
set by VDSM. Now, VDSM calls have been removed from the AddVm command flow and
large deployments no longer exceed the transaction timeout. (BZ#956743)
- Previously, authentication error messages on engine.log did not specify a user
name. This caused confusion when attempting to debug. Now, authentication error
messages state the user name on engine.log. (BZ#970114)
- Previously, if a highly available virtual machine was killed during a live
snapshot, the virtual machine could not be re-run because the virtual machine
would be in a different state than was expected by the engine. Now, the status
of the virtual machine is saved when live snapshot is initiated and is
referenced so that a virtual machine can be re-run after it has been killed
during a live snapshot. (BZ#892638)
- Previously, unlock_entity failed to find locked snapshots and unlock them even
after the associated virtual machine and virtual disk were unlocked
successfully. Now, locked snapshots are appropriately unlocked along with their
associated virtual machines and virtual disks. (BZ#967855)
- Previously, using the RDP console in Windows XP SP3 with IE would crash IE.
This was due to the MsRdpClient object being removed from the body of the
'OnDisconnected' event of the MsRdpClient; IE would crash trying to give control
back to the MsRdpClient. Now, this line has been removed and proper cleanup is
performed by the connect() method to avoid crashing IE. (BZ#967857)
- Previously, configuring a vlan-tagged rhevm network interface for a bond would
not carry across the gateway, which would be defined as 0.0.0.0 and would bring
the hypervisor off the network. Now, the gateway is carried over correctly and
the bond is created as expected. (BZ#958536)
- Previously, when starting a virtual machine that had a device attached, such
as an ISO, using 'RunOnce' in the WebAdmin Portal, an unmanaged duplicate of the
device was created. This unmanaged device was not being removed by the engine if
the virtual machine was shut down using the operating system controls, creating
a conflict with libvirt that would result in the device not being available.
Now, unmanaged devices are removed regardless of the controls used and this
conflict is avoided. (BZ#887876)
All Red Hat Enterprise Virtualization Manager administrators are advised to
install these updated packages which fix these bugs.
