Identify and remediate systems affected by this advisory.
Topic
An updated python-cinderclient package that fixes a bug is now available
for Red Hat OpenStack 2.1 (Folsom).
Description
OpenStack Volume (Cinder) provides services to manage and access block
storage volumes for use by virtual machine instances.
python-cinderclient is the client for the OpenStack Cinder API; it
includes a Python API (the cinderclient module), and a command-line
script (cinder). Both API and script implement 100% of the OpenStack
Cinder API.
This package addresses the following issue:
- Non-ASCII characters used in a Cinder volume name were not always
correctly parsed from the command line, causing errors (for example,
'cinder show' did not always display volume details). This issue has
been resolved by treating all input as UTF-8 encoded text. (BZ#888952)
All users of python-cinderclient are advised to upgrade to this updated package,
which fixes this issue.
