RHBA-2013:0796 - Bug Fix Advisory
Synopsis
python-django-horizon bug fix advisory
Type/Severity
Bug Fix Advisory
Red Hat Insights patch analysis
Identify and remediate systems affected by this advisory.
Topic
An updated python-django-horizon package that fixes several bugs is now
available for Red Hat OpenStack 2.1 (Folsom).
Description
Horizon is a Django application which provides a graphical user interface to the
OpenStack components. It allows one to perform site administrator operations
(such as viewing account resource usage, configuring users, accounts, quotas,
flavors, etc.) and end user operations (such as starting, stopping or deleting
instances, creating/restoring snapshots, viewing instances VNC consoles, etc.)
These updated packages include an update to the latest stable release of
OpenStack Folsom, version 2012.2.4. These packages address the following
issues:
- Previous releases of Horizon sometimes produced an unhelpful error
("Something went wrong!") when attempting to release a floating
IP address from a project. This occurred due to a change from integer-only
IP IDs to UUID IDs. This has been corrected and now Horizon correctly
handles UUID floating IP IDs. (BZ#948007)
- A flaw in an error string resulted in a stack trace appearing in the log if
the default role specified in the local_settings configuration file did not
exist. This meant that the text in the log did not indicate the cause of the
fault. The incorrect error string has been updated so that when this situation
is encountered the correct error message is now recorded. (BZ#959157)
All users of Red Hat OpenStack 2.1 (Folsom) are advised to install these
updated packages which resolve this issue.
