Topic
An updated openstack-nova package that fixes several bugs is now available for
Red Hat OpenStack Folsom.
Description
OpenStack Compute (Nova) is open source software designed to
provision and manage large networks of virtual machines, creating a
redundant and scalable cloud computing platform. It provides the
software, control panels, and APIs required to orchestrate a cloud,
including running instances, managing networks, and controlling access
through users and projects.
This release resolves the following bugs:
- Previously, a common function used by Nova and its associated utilities did
not set the logging backend correctly. As a result the nova-manage utility would
always display debug messages even when the --nodebug option had been specified.
An update has been made to ensure that the logging backend is always set
correctly. The use of command line arguments to filter debug messages printed by
the nova-manage command now works correctly. (BZ#919106)
- Under certain circumstances, nova's networking subsystem would not free IP
addresses used by instances on termination. With this update, IP addresses are
correctly freed when instances are terminated. (BZ#924000)
- Updates to the libvirt driver for Nova resulted in an invalid key error in the
device mapping code. This error prevented the booting of instances from volume
storage. The device mapping code has been updated to prevent the key error from
occurring. Booting instances from volume storage now works correctly.
(BZ#929194)
All users of Red Hat OpenStack 2.0 (Folsom) Preview and Red Hat OpenStack 2.1
(Folsom) are advised to install these updated packages.
