Identify and remediate systems affected by this advisory.
Topic
Updated cobbler and spacewalk-java packages that fix several bugs are now
available for Red Hat Network Satellite 5.5.
Description
Red Hat Network Satellite provides a solution to organizations requiring
absolute control over and privacy of the maintenance and package deployment of
their servers.
This update fixes the following bugs:
- The Monitoring page in the web user interface of Red Hat Network Satellite
allows the user to filter probes by their state. Previously, when the user
attempted to view the next page of the filtered results, the filtering was lost
and all probes were displayed. This update corrects this error so that users can
now display the previous or next page of the results as expected. (BZ#737895)
- Prior to this update, when the user uploaded an erroneous kickstart file, the
web user interface of Red Hat Network Satellite produced an error message with a
link surrounded by explicitly displayed HTML tags. With this update, this error
message is now displayed in plain text. (BZ#817473)
- When the user creates a kickstart profile, cobbler automatically converts its
name to lower case. Previously, any attempt to change some letters in this name
to upper case failed with an Internal Server Error. This update ensures that Red
Hat Network Satellite does not permit such a change. (BZ#822834)
- Prior to this update, both the Package Search page in the Red Hat Network
Satellite web user interface and the result of the channel.listSoftwareChannels
API call could incorrectly contain duplicate channel entries. This update
corrects the database query responsible for this behavior so that the channel
list no longer contains any duplicate entries. (BZ#851150)
- When a channel was created by using the spacewalk-clone-by-date command with
the current date, in comparison with the original channel, this new channel
could be missing some non-errata packages. This update ensures that such a
channel now contains the same number of packages as the original channel.
(BZ#863025)
- Due to an error in a hard-coded URL, re-provisioning a client machine
registered with Red Hat Network Satellite through a proxy server failed with an
Internal Server Error. This update corrects the hard-coded URL so that such
client machines can now be re-provisioned as expected. (BZ#864037)
- When the user uploaded an erroneous kickstart file, the web user interface of
Red Hat Network Satellite displayed the HTML code of an Internal Server Error
page instead of the kickstart file. With this update, the parse error from
cobbler is now correctly displayed to the user. (BZ#866326)
- Available translations of the Red Hat Network Satellite server have been
updated. In addition, Red Hat Network Satellite is now newly translated into
French, German, Italian, Japanese, Korean, Russian, Spanish, Brazilian
Portuguese, Simplified Chinese, and Traditional Chinese. (BZ#875102)
All users of Red Hat Network Satellite are advised to upgrade to these updated
packages, which fix these bugs.
