Identify and remediate systems affected by this advisory.
Topic
Updated rhevm packages that fix various bugs are now available.
Description
The Red Hat Enterprise Virtualization Manager is a centralized management
platform that allows system administrators to view and manage virtual
machines. The Red Hat Enterprise Virtualization Manager provides a
comprehensive range of features including search capabilities, resource
management, live migrations, and virtual infrastructure provisioning. The
Manager is a JBoss Application Server application that provides several
interfaces through which the virtual environment can be accessed and
interacted with, including an Administration Portal, a User Portal, and a
Representational State Transfer (REST) Application
Programming Interface (API).
This update fixes the following bugs:
- Previously, the DeleteAuditLogOlderThanDate command only removed audit
logs when the "processed=TRUE" condition was set, causing the database to
grow excessively. With this update, "processed=TRUE" is no longer a
condition to remove logs. DeleteAuditLogOlderThanDate now removes logs on
the periodic time it is configured to do so, which is 30 days by default
(BZ#859398).
- Previously, destroying the storage domain where a template was originally
created removed the mapping between the original template and all storage
domains to which the template was copied. As a result, users could not
create new virtual machines from the template on storage domains to which
it had previously been copied. Now, only the references for the storage
domain being destroyed are removed. References to other storage domains
containing the copied template are left intact (BZ#861232).
- Openssl is unable to parse complex time zones, including time zones that
observe daylight savings time. As a result virtualization host installation
failed, displaying the error message "start date is invalid". The date
format has been changed to UTC. As a result it is now possible to install
the virtualization in time zones with complexities including those that
observe daylight savings time (BZ#865005).
Users of Red Hat Enterprise Virtualization are advised to upgrade to these
updated packages, which resolve those issues.
