Topic
An updated rhn-solaris-bootstrap package that fixes various bugs in Red Hat
Network Satellite Server Solaris client components is now available for Red Hat
Network Satellite 5.4.
Description
Red Hat Network (RHN) Satellite provides a solution to organizations requiring
absolute control over and privacy of the maintenance and package deployment of
their servers. It allows organizations to utilize the benefits of the Red Hat
Network without having to provide public Internet access to their servers or
other client systems.
This update fixes the following bugs in the components that are shipped as part
of the Red Hat Network Satellite Server Solaris client:
- Previously, the /opt/redhat/rhn/solaris/usr/sbin/rhnsd binary provided by the
rhn-solaris-bootstrap package for the SPARC architecture was incorrectly built
for the 32-bit x86 architecture. This update fixes this error, and the
rhn-solaris-bootstrap package for the SPARC architecture now provides the
correct binary. (BZ#744222)
- Due to a typo in the configuration file path, the rhnsd service did not
respect any changes to the /opt/redhat/rhn/solaris/etc/sysconfig/rhn/rhnsd file.
With this update, the rhnsd init script has been adapted to use the correct file
path, and configuration changes now take effect as expected. (BZ#744287)
- Since it is optional, the solaris2mpm utility no longer requires the
architecture to be specified in the dependency file. (BZ#470154)
- The presence of non-ASCII characters in a configuration file no longer
prevents it from being deployed. (BZ#515637)
All users of rhnpush and the Red Hat Network Satellite Server Solaris client are
advised to upgrade to this updated package, which fixes these bugs.
