Details

Updated amanda packages that fix two bugs are now available for Red Hat
Enterprise Linux 5.

AMANDA, the Advanced Maryland Automatic Network Disk Archiver, is a backup
system that allows the administrator of a LAN to set up a single master backup
server to back up multiple hosts to one or more tape drives or disk files.

This update fixes the following bugs:

* Prior to this update, AMANDA was unable to extract files from archives, if the
file names contained Bash metacharacters. With this update, this unintended
behavior has been corrected. (BZ#456141)

* Prior to this update, the output of the help for the "amfetchdump" command
described the option "-k", which does not exist. With this update, the spurious
description has been removed from the output. (BZ#508111)

All users of AMANDA should upgrade to these updated packages, which fix these
bugs.

Solution

Before applying this update, make sure all previously-released errata
relevant to your system have been applied.
