RHBA-2011:0835 - Bug Fix Advisory
Synopsis
java-1.6.0-sun bug fix and enhancement update
Type/Severity
Bug Fix Advisory
Topic
Updated java-1.6.0-sun packages that fix several bugs and add various
enhancements are now available for Red Hat Enterprise Linux 4 Extras, and Red
Hat Enterprise Linux 5 and 6 Supplementary.
Description
The Sun 1.6.0 Java release includes the Sun Java 6 Runtime Environment and the
Sun Java 6 Software Development Kit.
These updated java-1.6.0-sun packages upgrade Sun Java 6 SDK to version
1.6.0_25, which provides a number of bug fixes and enhancements over the
previous version.
In addition, these updated java-1.6.0-sun packages fix the following bug:
- Previously, in Eclipse, the Java Virtual Machine could have terminated with a
segmentation fault when the user tried to rebuild the project index for a CDT
(C/C++ Development Tools) project. With this update, Eclipse no longer crashes
when a CDT project index is rebuilt. (BZ#681903, BZ#705351, BZ#705353)
Note that all running instances of Sun Java must be restarted in order for these
changes to take effect.
Users are advised to upgrade to these updated java-1.6.0-sun packages, which
upgrade the Sun 1.6.0 Java and fix this bug.
