Red Hat Insights patch analysis
Identify and remediate systems affected by this advisory.
Topic
An updated gnome-volume-manager package that fixes a bug is now available.
Description
The GNOME Volume Manager monitors volume-related events and responds with
user-specified policy. The GNOME Volume Manager can automount hot-plugged
drives, automount inserted removable media, autorun programs, automatically play
audio CDs and video DVDs, and automatically import photos from a digital camera.
The GNOME Volume Manager does this entirely in user-space and without polling.
This updated gnome-volume-manager package fixes the following bug:
- When you log out, file systems that were mounted during the gnome session are
unmounted. Previously, on the root user logout, also file systems, which were
not mounted during the gnome session, were unmounted. With this update,
automount is disabled for the root user and the problem no longer occurs.
(BZ#243774)
All users of gnome-volume-manager are advised to upgrade to this updated
package, which resolves this issue.
