RHBA-2010:0030 - Bug Fix Advisory
Synopsis
dhcp bug fix update
Type/Severity
Bug Fix Advisory
Topic
Updated dhcp packages that resolve an issue are now available.
Description
The Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol (DHCP) is a protocol that allows
individual devices on an IP network to get their own network configuration
information, including an IP address, a subnet mask, and a broadcast
address. The dhcp package provides a relay agent and ISC DHCP service
required to enable and administer DHCP on a network.
These updated dhcp packages fix the following bug:
- a memory leak in the load_balance_mine() function caused 20-30 octets per
DHCPDISCOVER packet to be leaked when failover was in use and was in its
normal state. This update fixes the memory leak in the load_balance_mine()
function. (BZ#552210)
All users of dhcp are advised to upgrade to these updated packages, which
resolve this issue.
