RHBA-2009:1597 - Bug Fix Advisory
Synopsis
Red Hat Network Satellite bug fix update
Type/Severity
Bug Fix Advisory
Red Hat Insights patch analysis
Identify and remediate systems affected by this advisory.
Topic
Updated Red Hat Network Satellite packages that address issues using the web
interface.
Description
Red Hat Network Satellite is a systems management tool for Linux-based
infrastructures. It allows for the provisioning, remote management and
monitoring of multiple Linux deployments with a single, centralized tool.
These updated packages fix the following bugs:
- Sorting channel errata would result in an incorrectly sorted list.
(BZ#508771)
- Confirming a channel package merge would not display a confirmation
message on the redirected page. Previous versions displayed this message.
(BZ#531649)
- The "Select All" and "Update" buttons on the channel merge page would
clear the selected items. Navigating to pages would also clear the selected
items. (BZ#527881)
- A rare Hibernate error may occur when adding errata to a channel that
would result in errata and packages not being added to the channel. (BZ#531091)
- The system group overview page would incorrectly show all groups as
up-to- date even when some systems had needed errata. (BZ#531645)
All Red Hat Network Satellite users should install these updated packages
which address these issues.
Solution
Before applying this update, make sure all previously released errata
relevant to your system have been applied.
To update all RPMs for your particular architecture, run:
rpm -Fvh [filenames]
where [filenames] is a list of the RPMs you wish to upgrade. Only those
RPMs which are currently installed will be updated. Those RPMs which are
not installed but included in the list will not be updated. Note that you
can also use wildcards (*.rpm) if your current directory *only* contains
the desired RPMs.
Please note that this update is also available via Red Hat Network. Many
people find this an easier way to apply updates. To use Red Hat Network,
launch the Red Hat Update Agent with the following command:
up2date
or, for RHEL 5:
yum update
This will start an interactive process that will result in the appropriae
RPMs being upgraded on your system.
After installing the needed packages you will need to run:
rhn-satellite restart
