RHBA-2009:1031 - Bug Fix Advisory
Synopsis
gftp bug fix update
Type/Severity
Bug Fix Advisory
Red Hat Insights patch analysis
Identify and remediate systems affected by this advisory.
Topic
An updated gftp package that fixes a bug is now available.
Description
gftp is a multi-threaded FTP client for the X Window System.
This updated gftp package fixes a bug that occurred when connecting to a
secure FTP (SFTP) server that displayed a login banner message. In this
situation, gftp treated the banner as an error message and disconnected the
user. With this update, connecting to an SFTP server which displays a login
banner message succeeds, thus resolving the issue.
All users of gftp are advised to upgrade to this updated package, which
upgrades gftp to version 2.0.18 and resolves this issue.
Solution
Before applying this update, make sure that all previously-released
errata relevant to your system have been applied.
This update is available via Red Hat Network. Details on how to use
