Synopsis
privoxy bug fix update
Type/Severity
Bug Fix Advisory
Red Hat Insights patch analysis
Identify and remediate systems affected by this advisory.
Topic
An updated privoxy package that fixes a static linking bug is now available.
Description
Privoxy is a web proxy with advanced filtering capabilities for protecting
privacy, filtering web page content, managing cookies, controlling access,
and removing ads, banners, pop-ups and other obnoxious Internet junk.
This updated privoxy package links the privoxy package against the system
PCRE (Perl-Compatible Regular Expression) library instead of using an
embedded copy of the PCRE library. With this fix, Privoxy will be able to
take advantage of security updates and bug fixes which apply to the system
regular expression library.
All users of privoxy are advised to upgrade to this updated package, which
resolves this issue.
