An updated strace package that fixes various bugs is now available.
The strace program intercepts and records the system calls that are called
and received by a running process.
This updated package fixes the following bugs:
* on Intel Itanium-based systems, using the strace "-f" option to trace a
process that was creating a new thread, caused the thread that was being
created to crash.
* on Intel Itanium-based systems, using the strace "-f" option to trace a
process that was calling the "vfork()" system call, caused strace to hang.
In this updated package, strace works correctly with processes that call
the "vfork()" system call on Intel Itanium-based systems.
Users of strace are advised to upgrade to this updated package, which
resolves these issues.
Before applying this update, make sure that all previously-released
errata relevant to your system have been applied.
