RHBA-2008:0803 - Bug Fix Advisory
Synopsis
cmirror-kernel bug fix update
Type/Severity
Bug Fix Advisory
Topic
Updated cmirror-kernel packages that fix various bugs and module-loading
issues are now available for Red Hat Enterprise Linux 4.7, kernel release
(2.6.9-78.EL).
Description
The cmirror-kernel packages provide support within the kernel for cluster
mirroring.
These updated packages fix the following bugs:
- cmirror-kernel now prevents a server from issuing I/O requests on
devices that are suspended.
- It was not possible to create a mirror log without the "block_on_error"
flag. In these updated packages, a mirror log can be created without the
"block_on_error" flag.
- A bug that may have caused an infinite election loop or a mirror
activation deadlock has been resolved. The bug may have caused errors
similar to the following to occur:
"dm-cmirror: Failed to receive election results from server"
- A bug that caused a panic in cluster_log_ser during resyncing of
two-legged core log mirrors has been fixed.
Also, these updated cmirror-kernel packages are in sync with the latest
kernel (2.6.9-78.EL). The modules in earlier cmirror-kernel packages fail
to load because they do not match the running kernel. It is possible to
force-load the modules; however, with this update, force-loading the
modules is not required.
Users are advised to upgrade to these latest cmirror-kernel packages, which
are updated for use with the 2.6.9-78.EL kernel.
