Details

Updated cdrtools packages that fix various bugs are now available.

[Updated 8 October 2008]
The packages in this errata have been updated to include a fix for Red Hat
Bugzilla #461541.

The cdrtools packages provide a collection of CD-ROM and DVD utilities.

These updated packages fix the following bugs:

* as a result of an incomplete fix for Red Hat Bugzilla #435953, mkisofs
processed the current working directory and its parent (ie the "." and ".."
directories) incorrectly. In some instances, mkisofs returned the warning:

mkisofs: Unexpected joliet directory length 530 expected: 534 ''

This resulted in an .iso image with invalid Joilet information, making it
unreadable on some operating systems. In these updated packages, mkisofs
has been updated to correctly process these directories, which resolves
this issue.

* mkisofs was unable to handle directories that had the ".." directory
entry preceding the "." directory. Running "mkisofs" on such a directory,
or running a media test that called "mkisofs", may have caused an error
similar to the following:

Unknown file type (unallocated) /[usr]/[share]/.. - ignoring and continuing

In these updated packages, mkisofs correctly handles directories that have
the ".." directory entry preceding the "." directory.

* if the "mkisofs" command was run with the "-no-emul-boot" option, and an
image was not specified with the "-b" option, a segmentation fault
occurred. In these updated packages, using "-no-emul-boot" without the
"-b" option produces a "Missing boot image name, use -b option" warning.

Users of cdrtools are advised to upgrade to these updated packages, which
resolve these issues.
