An updated ftp package that fixes a bug is now available.
The ftp package provides the standard UNIX® command line File Transfer
Protocol (FTP) client. FTP is a widely used protocol for transferring
files over the Internet, and for archiving files.
When the "case" command was used to turn on remote computer file name case
mapping, using the "mget" command to download files may have caused FTP to
overwrite the files, on the client machine, with the wrong content, or
fail when mixed-case file names were used. For example, downloading
multiple files may have resulted in a single file, containing the content
of a different file.
Users of ftp are advised to upgrade to this updated package, which resolves
this issue.
Before applying this update, make sure that all previously-released
errata relevant to your system have been applied.
