Topic
Updated nfs-utils packages that fix various bugs and add an enhancement
are now available.
Description
The nfs-utils package provides a daemon for the kernel Network File System
(NFS) server and related tools, providing a much higher level of
performance than the traditional Linux NFS server used by most users.
This updated nfs-utils package includes fixes for the following bugs:
- rpc.mountd memory usage would sometimes grow to several hundred megabytes
within a few days.
- rpc.mountd died with very large netgroup setups.
- The rpc.mountd(8) manual page listed the '-P' option twice.
- The 'nohide' export option needs to be set for refer exports to function
correctly.
- the method of setting lockd ports was updated.
- the init script did not exit correctly when rpc.mount would fail to start.
- mounting an exported file system would sometimes fail with the error
message "Stale NFS file handle".
- the rpcgssd and rpcsvcgssd init scripts would display a failure message
when they were stopped, even when they were not configured to run in the
/etc/sysconfig/nfs configuration file.
- The Bug section of the nfs(5) manual page was incorrect in stating that
the notco command line option was silently ignored.
- Added NFS user space Security Negotiation to the server side.
All users of nfs-utils are advised to upgrade to this updated package,
which resolves these issues.
