Bug Fix Advisory gfs-utils bug fix update

Advisory: RHBA-2008:0349-5
Type: Bug Fix Advisory
Severity: N/A
Issued on: 2008-05-21
Last updated on: 2008-05-21
Affected Products: RHEL Cluster-Storage (v. 5 server)
OVAL: N/A

Details

Updated gfs-utils packages that fix various bugs are now available.

The gfs-utils packages provide the user-level tools necessary to mount and
use GFS file systems.

These updated gfs-utils packages apply the following bug fixes:

* the lock_dlm lock protocol is set as the default lock protocol.

* gfs_grow failed when given mount point names ending with a slash(/).
gfs_grow will now grow GFS file systems when given a mount point argument
ending with a slash.

* accessing a large quota file caused gfs_quota to hang. gfs_quota now
parses the quota file faster causing the system to no longer hang on a
large file.

* growing a file system with gfs_grow no longer causes file corruption.

All users of gfs-utils should upgrade to these updated packages, which
resolve these issues.
