An updated device-mapper-multipath package that fixes a bug is now
available.
The device-mapper-multipath packages provide tools to manage multipath
devices by giving the device-mapper multipath kernel module instructions on
what to do, as well as by managing the creation and removal of partitions
for device-mapper devices
This updated package fixes a bug where kpartx named partitions
inconsistently. If the name of a device ended in a digit, kpartx would
append a 'p' and the partition number, whereas if the device name ended
with a character other than a digit, kpartx would simply append the
partition number without first appending the 'p'. This updated
device-mapper-multipath package adds the following behavior to kpartx: it
now checks to see if the configuration file /etc/kpartx.conf exists and
includes the configuration option "consistent_suffix=yes", and, if so, adds
a 'p' followed by the partition number to the base device name. If, on the
other hand, the file does not exist or has the option
"consistent_suffix=no", then kpartx retains its former, somewhat
inconsistent device-naming behavior.
Users should upgrade to this updated package, which resolves this issues.
