Bug Fix Advisory launchmail bug fix update

Advisory: RHBA-2008:0018-5
Type: Bug Fix Advisory
Severity: N/A
Issued on: 2008-05-21
Last updated on: 2008-05-21
Affected Products: Red Hat Enterprise Linux Desktop (v. 5 client)
OVAL: N/A

Details

An updated launchmail package that fixes a bug is now available.

The launchmail package contains launchmail, which launches the preferred
mail client set in GNOME's Preferred Applications chooser. This package
also places the email launch icon on the GNOME top panel.

On KDE-only systems that do not have GNOME or Evolution installed, clicking
the launchmail icon caused a "ERROR: The mail client evolution does not
exist. Please reconfigure." error. In this updated package, launchmail
falls back gracefully on KDE-only systems.

Users of launchmail are advised to upgrade to this updated package, which
resolves this issue.
