Details

Updated gdb packages that fix a memory leak on the Itanium architecture are
now available.

The GNU debugger, gdb, allows the debugging of programs written in C, C++,
and other languages by executing them in a controlled fashion and then
printing out their data.

This updated package addresses the issue of excessive memory usage on the
Itanium architecture when repeatedly stopping and continuing a program
during a debugging session. Architectures other than Itanium are not
affected by this issue.

All users of gdb on the Itanium architecture should upgrade to these
updated packages, which contain backported patches to resolve this issue.
