Details

Updated file packages that resolve issues recognizing OpenDocument
file formats are now available.

The file command is used to identify a particular file according to the
type of data contained in the file.

The file command was not able to recognize OpenDocument file formats
including, for example, the OpenDocument Text (.odt), OpenDocument
Spreadsheet (.ods) and OpenDocument Text Template (.ott) formats. The file
utility has been updated so that it is now able to recognize all
OpenDocument file formats.

All users are advised to upgrade to these updated packages, which contain
backported fixes to correct these issues.

Solution

Before applying this update, make sure all previously released errata
relevant to your system have been applied.

Please note that this update is available via Red Hat Network. To use Red
Hat Network, launch the Red Hat Update Agent with the following command:

up2date

This will start an interactive process that will result in the appropriate
RPMs being upgraded on your system.
