Red Hat Insights patch analysis
Identify and remediate systems affected by this advisory.
Topic
An updated elilo package that fixes two bugs is now available.
Description
The elilo package contains the Linux boot loader for EFI-based systems,
such as IA64-based machines.
This update fixes the following two bugs:
- ELILO begins booting the kernel without first clearing the processor
cache, which could result in crashes or incorrect operation of the kernel.
- efibootmgr writes out boot entries using lower case hexadecimal digits,
which is against the EFI specification.
Users should upgrade to this updated package, which resolves these issues.
Solution
Before applying this update, make sure that all previously-released
errata relevant to your system have been applied.
This update is available via Red Hat Network. Details on how to use
