Topic
Updated gfs-kmod packages that fix various issues are now
available for Red Hat Enterprise Linux 5.
Description
The gfs-kmod package contains modules that provide the ability to mount and
use GFS file systems.
These updated packages apply the following bug fixes:
- a cluster could hang while running the df and ls commands.
- corruption could occur over NFS when under memory pressure.
- gfs now manages its slab cache more efficiently.
- gfs could fail to release a glock under memory pressure.
- gfs could fail to display directories that exist on the file system.
- the gfs kernel modules are now dependent upon the kernel ABI and do not
need to be rebuilt for every new kernel.
- mkdir now performs faster on larger file systems.
- gfs now properly substitutes '_' for '/' in table names.
- gfs file systems can now be exported properly with NFSv2.
- performance has been improved on gfs file systems with lock_nolock
exported through nfs.
- a bug was fixed which would cause an incorrect size to be reported when
truncating on systems with quotas.
Users are advised to upgrade to these latest gfs-kmod packages, which are
updated for use with Red Hat Enterprise Linux 5.
