Details

An updated vixie-cron package that contains various bug fixes and
enhancements is now available.

The vixie-cron package contains the Vixie version of cron. Cron is a
standard UNIX daemon that runs specified programs at scheduled times. Vixie
cron adds better security and more powerful configuration options to the
standard version of cron.

Vixie-cron uses /tmp as the default temporary directory. Some users may
want to fine tune the temporary directory via the TMPDIR environment
variable. This update to vixie-cron adds support for a variable temporary
directory as well as fixing the following bugs:

* Cron didn't report problems with wrong mls level

* manpage refers to mls roles more precisely

* It is now possible to use symlinks for jobs, even if you change the
symlinks or delete it

All users should upgrade to this updated package, which contain these bug
fixes and enhancements.

Solution

Before applying this update, make sure that all previously-released
errata relevant to your system have been applied. Use Red Hat
Network to download and update your packages. To launch the Red Hat
Update Agent, use the following command:

up2date
