Synopsis
man bug fix update
Type/Severity
Bug Fix Advisory
Red Hat Insights patch analysis
Identify and remediate systems affected by this advisory.
Topic
An updated man package that fixes the makewhatis script, makewhatis
documentation and man2html command is now available.
Description
The man package includes three tools for finding information and/or
documentation about your Linux system: man, apropos, and whatis.
The previous version of man contained a version of the makewhatis script
that does not go through symlinks, and the makewhatis man page and help
output were not complete. The previous version of the man2html command
contained a bug which broke the output; this version fixes this problem.
All users of man should upgrade to these updated packages, which resolve
this issue.
Solution
Before applying this update, make sure that all previously-released
errata relevant to your system have been applied.
This update is available via Red Hat Network. Details on how to use
