RHBA-2007:0293 - Bug Fix Advisory
Synopsis
SysVinit bug fix update
Type/Severity
Bug Fix Advisory
Red Hat Insights patch analysis
Identify and remediate systems affected by this advisory.
Topic
New SysVinit packages that fix two bugs are now available.
Description
Two bugs are fixed in these SysVinit packages:
- When opening of /dev/console fails (due to the device being closed on the
other end), a delay has been added that may allow the open to succeed
- The WAITING state has now been preserved across re-exec, allowing
'telinit' to be used in initscripts on startup.
Solution
Before applying this update, make sure all previously released errata
relevant to your system have been applied.
This update is available via Red Hat Network. To use Red Hat Network,
launch the Red Hat Update Agent with the following command:
up2date
This will start an interactive process that will result in the appropriate
RPMs being upgraded on your system.
