RHBA-2006:0670 - Bug Fix Advisory
Synopsis
coreutils bug fix update
Type/Severity
Bug Fix Advisory
Topic
Updated coreutils packages that fix a bug with /usr/bin/id are now available.
Description
The coreutils package contains core GNU utilities. It is a combination of
the old GNU fileutils, sh-utils, and textutils packages.
The /usr/bin/id program used the getgrouplist() C library function in a way
that caused a segmentation fault. It has been changed to avoid using the
function in this particular way.
Users are advised to upgrade to these updated packages, which resolve this
issue.
