RHBA-2006:0409 - Bug Fix Advisory
Synopsis
ftp bug fix update
Type/Severity
Bug Fix Advisory
Topic
Updated ftp packages are now available.
Description
The ftp package provides the standard UNIX command-line FTP (File Transfer
Protocol) client. FTP is a widely used protocol for transferring files
over the Internet and for archiving files.
This update addresses the following bugs:
- The ftp client leaked system resources when it tried to retrieve a file
that did not exist from the FTP server.
- When runique was turned on during an ftp session, the mget command failed
to transfer any file.
Users of ftp should upgrade to these updated packages, which resolve these
issues.
Solution
Before applying this update, make sure all previously released errata
relevant to your system have been applied.
This update is available via Red Hat Network. To use Red Hat Network,
launch the Red Hat Update Agent with the following command:
up2date
This will start an interactive process that will result in the appropriate
RPMs being upgraded on your system.
