RHBA-2006:0405 - Bug Fix Advisory
Synopsis
lockdev bug fix update
Type/Severity
Bug Fix Advisory
Topic
Updated lockdev packages that fix several bugs are now available.
Description
Lockdev provides a reliable way to put an exclusive lock to devices using
both FSSTND and SVr4 methods.
This update fixes the following bugs:
- The lockdev command did not support 3-component device pathnames (e.g
/dev/input/ttyACM0).
- The lockdev command unlocked files if pid still existed.
All users of lockdev should upgrade to these updated packages, which resolve
these issues.
Solution
Before applying this update, make sure all previously released errata
relevant to your system have been applied.
This update is available via Red Hat Network. To use Red Hat Network,
launch the Red Hat Update Agent with the following command:

This will start an interactive process that will result in the appropriate
RPMs being upgraded on your system.
