RHBA-2006:0320 - Bug Fix Advisory
Synopsis
pvm bug fix update
Type/Severity
Bug Fix Advisory
Topic
Updated pvm packages are available.
Description
PVM3 (Parallel Virtual Machine) is a library and daemon that allows
distributed processing environments to be constructed on heterogeneous
machines and architectures. Xpvm is a TCL/TK based tool that allows full
manageability of the PVM cluster as well as the ability to monitor cluster
performance.
This update fixes building and linking software with PVM on AMD64 and Intel
EM64T architectures; all PVM libraries are now built with -fPIC.
All pvm users are advised to upgrade to these updated packages, which
resolve this issue.
Solution
Before applying this update, make sure all previously released errata
relevant to your system have been applied.
This update is available via Red Hat Network. To use Red Hat Network,
