RHBA-2006:0212 - Bug Fix Advisory
Synopsis
ksh bug fix update
Type/Severity
Bug Fix Advisory
Topic
Updated ksh packages that address various bugs are now available.
Description
The ksh shell is a command interpreter intended for both interactive and
shell script use. Ksh's command language is a superset of the sh shell
language. The pdksh package contains PD-ksh, a clone of the Korn shell (ksh).
Previous versions of the ksh shell could enter an endless loop when a
particular directory layout was used. This update provides corrections to
avoid that problem.
Previous versions of the ksh package replaced the pdksh package. This issue
has been fixed in this update, but pdksh and ksh cannot be installed at the
same time.
Users of ksh should upgrade to these updated packages, which resolve these
issues.
Solution
Before applying this update, make sure all previously released errata
relevant to your system have been applied.
This update is available via Red Hat Network. To use Red Hat Network,
launch the Red Hat Update Agent with the following command:
up2date
This will start an interactive process that will result in the appropriate
RPMs being upgraded on your system.
