Updated XFree86 packages are now available for Red Hat Enterprise Linux 3,
which resolve a number of reported issues.
Description
XFree86 is an implementation of the X Window System, which provides
the core functionality of the desktop.
The following issues have been addressed in this update:
- X server crash when using ALT-TAB to switch between applications.
- A bug in the X server's RandR implementation which causes the KDE
control center to crash.
- An XIM related failure with XEmbed windows.
- Instability issues with the 'savage' driver.
Users impacted by these issues, should update to this new package
release.
Solution
Before applying this update, make sure all previously released errata
relevant to your system have been applied.
This update is available via Red Hat Network. To use Red Hat Network,
launch the Red Hat Update Agent with the following command:
up2date
This will start an interactive process that will result in the appropriate
RPMs being upgraded on your system.
