Details

Updated bash packages that fix a bug with signal handling are now available.

Bash is the default shell for Red Hat Enterprise Linux.

This updated version of bash fixes a regression in handling the situation
where a signal is received by a child process of the shell. It also fixes
a race condition in pipeline management.

Users should upgrade to these updated packages, which resolve this issue.

Solution

Before applying this update, make sure that all previously-released
errata relevant to your system have been applied. Use Red Hat
Network to download and update your packages. To launch the Red Hat
Update Agent, use the following command:

up2date
