RHBA-2004:616 - Bug Fix Advisory
Synopsis
Updated python packages
Type/Severity
Bug Fix Advisory
Topic
Updated python packages that fix an SSL bug are now available.
Description
Python is an interpreted, interactive, object-oriented programming
language often compared to Tcl, Perl, Scheme, or Java. Python includes
modules, classes, exceptions, very high level dynamic data types, and
dynamic typing. Python supports interfaces to many system calls and
libraries, as well as to various windowing systems.
A problem in the SSL implementation since Python 2.2 has been reported.
Under certain circumstances, httplib.HTTPSConnection did not function
properly.
These updated Python packages contain a backported fix from Python 2.2,
which resolve this issue.
