Details

Updated ucd-snmp packages that fix an uninitialized variable in snmpd are
now available.

SNMP (Simple Network Management Protocol) is a protocol used for
network management. The UCD-SNMP project includes various SNMP tools:
an extensible agent, an SNMP library, tools for requesting or setting
information from SNMP agents, tools for generating and handling SNMP
traps, a version of the netstat command which uses SNMP, and a Tk/Perl
browser.

These updated packages fix a variable that was not initialized in the
smux_trap_process() function of snmpd. This could cause a problem during
the parsing of the trap PDU.

All users of ucd-snmp should upgrade to these updated packages, which
resolve this issue.
